I am back with another ( i know) question on my boat. I have a 83 Bayliner Capri 190 with a Volvo aq125 (A or B don't know). Think the last mechanic did not put the carburetor back together properly. Had it on water yesterday and while friend was driving I noticed a very fine mist of fuel coming out what appears to be a seem on my carburetor neck. I am thinking this is part of my problem were if I go to WOT i lose power and RPM's. Looked for a fuel filter to try and replace it but nothing. Just fuel line going from tank to fuel pump. Could there be a in tank filter?
Anyway was wondering how difficult it is to clean a carburetor and see if a gummed up fuel line, or if last mechanic just did not put it back together properly.
Plan on replacing old black rubber fuel lines with newer ones and place a water/fuel separator on this line. But if there was a diagram or set of instructions on how to clean carburetor it would be very helpful.
