I am looking at carpet alternatives for my deckboat. Does anyone have suggestions? I was wondering about Deckadence, but cannot find any user reviews on this product. I would need snap in application.

Do a search on Nautolex and Marideck and you will get a load of info on vinyl deck covering.

I just watched ShipShape TV last night, and John Greviskis just installed some PlasDeck product that looks like teak, but lays down like carpet. You can install it yourself in 2" or 6" strips, or you can send them a template and they'll make up a whole custom piece for you.

Re: Carpet Alternatives

I found a great local fiberglass supply shop today and had a 2 hour conversation with the owner before I walked out with product. I explained to him I was in the middle of a full restore and I didn't want to go with carpet on top of my new deck. I had mentioned Durabak, but told him I was pretty skeptical about it's cost ($120/gal). He recommended I use gelcoat ($53/gal).. Apply it to the deck with a roller and brush, then hand toss something gritty (he recommended play sand) after it's all laid down. He swears by it, and says he's used the same procedure in numerous rebuilds.

Hello SadieMitch..

Was wondering..if you need a SNAP in application..why do you want an alternative ?

I know some rubber alts are out there ..but there pricey .. as Im sure all alts are lol :)

Storage of some of the alts are kinda bulky as well m8..

YD.
