Re: Carpet on a fishing boat?
I like the IDEA of carpet, but the reality would be rather nasty ...

but boy do I love the look of djohns sea nymph, god that is one sweet looking set up, carpet up on the console and all

carpet also hides a multitude of sins, I can woodcraft cabinet grade goods, BUT with this infernal chronic back pain, I dont know how good a job I can do with the floor (g dane made a comment about pretreating the stringers then glassing them in, Jason countered with the better adhesion resin has when its all done at once, apperently the bond is made at the molecular level when you have appropriate time to let it set)(I should be reviewing my psychology papers, instead Im absorbing Runabout Renovation ... hey, thats chemistry, long chain polymers and all that, hehehe)

the snap in carpet is an option, but then you have the snap studs sticking up, dont know if I would like that ... eh, I dunno, there is also the thought that I am a foul weather boater, if the forecast calls for rain but no lighting or wind, Im out there, fish like rain for some reason, I think the divergence in pressure triggers feeding instincts, and a waterlogged carpet would just weigh the boat down

Chugboat Annie has carpet in her that is shot, what I did with her was to put a big vinyl runner down, with little vinyl spikes to hold it in place molded into the backing, but I was always aware that I Had to be careful ... whereas the orginal SeaMaster had a awlgrip sort of floor, sand in paint non slip finish and when the slammers hit, haul em in, and let em flop around the boat, it all scrubs out at the end of the day, the original Hydrophobia was just painted aluminum, same deal, soap water and borax and out it came

I think Ill stop before I write a book, lol, I do tend to ramble on and on and on
