Carpet really just a preference???

Looking at everyones different style carpeting and all the different styles you get with the different oz. carpeting it looks to me that most of it's just for preference. So I was wondering if anyone knows of pros and cons going with a heavier oz. carpeting or a lighter one. Also what's your take on PS redecking kit, looking around it looks pretty cheap for everything you get with it. Thanks

Heavier carpeting will last longer and feel better on your bare tootsies. It will also cost more. Fortunately I've never had to do a redeck job, but it's hard to go wrong with PS products and service. I've read several independent reviews of that kit over the years and all have been favorable.

I used their CCA treated 3/4 marine plywood on a 1974 Starcraft rebuild. Great stuff, no complaints.
