Did you undo the slotted screw on the side of the nosecone?
If yes? Possible the linkage fell down and is blocking the removal.
If it's the newer style it too can have pieces fall inside and cause problems??
Try sliding the carrier back in and then turn the drive upside down and shake it and try pulling it out again.
The 94 was the change over point from Force drives to all Mercury.
A serial# or a few pics of the drive will help.
You might have to remove the shift rod cover to access the parts??
