Re: Cat 3208T Fuel Filtering
Think i'd run the 900 with the brown filter as Racor recomends..

Being that the 900's bigger, it makes them very easy to dis-assemble and clean out, which you will probably have to do from time to time to keep a handle on the "black crud"..

Algae x, racor's additive, bioguard, is all just a biocide to help control the bacteria and fungus which you will get in the system.. Think of the stuff as being like chicken soup.. "Might not help, but it could'nt hurt.."

You can kill the crud, but once it's dead it's still in the fuel tank... Fuel polishing is a self contained pump and filter system to get the dead crud out... Just putting in an additive won't do much good if you already have a build up started... Kinda like a filter on a fishtank is the way i'd describe it... Also can have the guys come out and filter your fuel too..

If I had my own sizeable diesel powered boat that sat for extened periods with fuel in the tanks, I'd have a system, even if it was a home made set up.. Pump and filters..
