Catzilla seems better. She is eating a lot, but gaining no weight that I can detect.

What is a normal resting respiration rate for a 12 year old cat? Her respiration rate is about 68/min, which seems very fast to me.

(232)

That's about the same as Purrcy's - he's 12 going on 60. He doesn't eat a lot any more and has lost a bit of weight but is just as ornery as ever.

I had to ask JB, I checked my other cat and it was only 20/min. Hope Catzilla is alright.

Time for a new vet. Had a friend that had a goat having delivery problems she called her vet. (sat eve.) the kid had its head out,and was stuck. Vet said cut the head off and push it back in and bring her in Monday. I pulled the baby (dead) but momma was ok.
Morral, new Vet.

My vets office has 4 vets working out of it, we dont have that problem, someone is always on call.

Re: Cat respiration rate?

He said it is normal for some cats to accellerate their respiration rate when purring.

She does seem to be gaining a bit of weight now.
