cd16 no power

1959 cd16 5.5 h.p. she will idle all day long and purrs like a kitten at slow speed,but when you open her up, she just bogs and has no power. I installed new coils,points,condenser,plug wires,and cleaned the carb. Points are set at .20 and the plugs are gapped to .30 have 24:1 fuel mix. What could be the problem??

Chances are 90% that it is running on one cylinder. Go back and double check your ignition work.

But before you do, remove and ground one plug wire and see how it runs now. Then do the same with the other plug wire. Chances are it won't make any difference with one grounded, but won't run at all with the other one grounded---that is the good one. Once you know which is missing, you can zero in on it.
