I am the proud father of 16 month old twins, a boy and a girl. My kids absolutely love the water. When we?re at the cottage and ask if they want to go swimming they immediately stop what they?re doing and run around saying ?Bah? (bath in baby talk for being in the water). There really isn?t a beach where our dock is so normally we load the kids up on the pontoon and make our way over to a sand bar where the water is around 6 inches deep. They just sit there and splash and have a good time. Now they have started this throw toys over the side of the pontoon routine. As you can imagine it?s very difficult to keep track of everything a very active 16 month old is doing let alone two of them. You know when something goes overboard because they quickly turn around and repeat ?uh oh?. Most of the beach toys float so I can jump off and retrieve them. Now two weeks ago the sun was rather hot and the bimini was up on the run-a-bout so we decided to make our way over to the sand bar in the Bayliner. As we?re approaching the sand bar I throttle down to just idle coasting our way into the sand bar when I hear the famous ?uh-oh? I quickly get up and look over to find my wife?s cell phone bubbling its way to a final resting place of what our depth finder read as 18 ft. Important lesson was learned that day. Keep everything valuable in the glove box! I figured other parents would find this humorous and have more stories to share!

Hmmm, so I take it that they can't reach the toilet handle yet?
Just wait... ;)

Whats funny is that it took you 16 months to realize this. :D

You trigger some fond memories, mx.

To this day I call the Love Of My Life "Bah" because that is what our youngest (now 45) called her when he wanted out of his crib.

My #2 daughter (now 53 and a Navy Commander) could read when she was 3, but she didn't always understand what she was reading. I found her in the bathroom dribbling Bah's Chanel #5 into the stool. I snatched it away from her while she protested that "it says on the bottle that it is toilet water!!"

You can't argue with that logic!

As an old, fat bast**** who has been raising a child since he was 8 months old (now age 5), this gave me a great big grin.

I take him out to check my crab pots a lot and he loves it. Last time, he wanted to throw a baited trap back in, "all by himself like a big boy." I usually help him get the pots over the side of the boat, but let him give it a shot by himself. He did fine and afterwards gave me the five year old version of a big hug - he grabbed my leg and hugged it with a huge grin on his face!

These are the moments that you can't buy, steal or set up in advance. They just happen and they are magic!

Enjoy every second of these times. You will miss them terribly when they stop. There is no going back with the clock when they grow up.

My 3 year old son loves to work on the boat with me. He grabs his screw driver and climbs up by himself and just sort of looks around and helps. I love it.

My 2 year old daughter likes to ride with her head out the bow porthole and it is a awesome memory to see her smile as she does so.

I caught our 2 1/2 year old trying to throw my phone overboard before it was too late. I got a waterproof motorola barrage phone now!

I had a friend that some how dropped his cellphone in the toilet, his bright idea was to flush the toilet and while the water was down to grab the phone. Things did not work out as planned and his cellphone went bye bye. When he went to get a new cellphone and then he went to Lowes to make sure it couldn't fit into the drain of the toilet.

You can bet we're enjoying every second! Being a parent is the best:D I just wish time would slow down a little. They are growing up way to fast....
