I am the proud father of 16 month old twins, a boy and a girl. My kids absolutely love the water. When we?re at the cottage and ask if they want to go swimming they immediately stop what they?re doing and run around saying ?Bah? (bath in baby talk for being in the water). There really isn?t a beach where our dock is so normally we load the kids up on the pontoon and make our way over to a sand bar where the water is around 6 inches deep. They just sit there and splash and have a good time. Now they have started this throw toys over the side of the pontoon routine. As you can imagine it?s very difficult to keep track of everything a very active 16 month old is doing let alone two of them. You know when something goes overboard because they quickly turn around and repeat ?uh oh?. Most of the beach toys float so I can jump off and retrieve them. Now two weeks ago the sun was rather hot and the bimini was up on the run-a-bout so we decided to make our way over to the sand bar in the Bayliner. As we?re approaching the sand bar I throttle down to just idle coasting our way into the sand bar when I hear the famous ?uh-oh? I quickly get up and look over to find my wife?s cell phone bubbling its way to a final resting place of what our depth finder read as 18 ft. Important lesson was learned that day. Keep everything valuable in the glove box! I figured other parents would find this humorous and have more stories to share!
