What year boat are you talking about. The Dusky since 1999 maybe longer, has no wood.<br />Very happy with my Dusky 25.6 open fisherman center console with a 2003 Evinrude Ficht 225h.p. does 39knots with 2 people and a full tank of gas,100gal. I use this boat for chartering. it's a dry boat, easy to maintain. Only draw back for me is the transom is 7' wide. My next dusky will be 8'6" Boat weighs 3800lbs.motor about 500lbs.<br /><br />If you are looking at this boat to buy be carefull of the 1999-2000 225hp evinrudes,they are junk. Dusky still uses wood in the transom and stringers, unless you choose to have them made with composite materials. I think it's something like $1,000 extra. The floors have been non wood core since 1995? or so.
Have had my Dusky in a 5' chop,"wouldn't recomand doing that" With a high transom approximately 25" is great in a following sea.And it is hard to find a 26' new boat for $33,000 with a 225hp motor<br />the draw back is that the plastic hatch and storage covers are not the best.<br /><br />It's a fishing boat ! ! !
