Center console to standard console

I have a 1964 Montauk (Boston Whaler) with a custom center console. Looks great, but evidently a warm weather setup which is not good for me as I live in the Canadian arctic. Also, a new engine is a touch too heavy with the console in the aft section of the boat. So, want to know if anybody has any experience with changing from a center to a regular windsheild type console (on a whaler or not) and have any relevant information to give me on the subject (i.e. things to be careful of, methods, materials, costs etc...)

Cheers,

Mike

Mike,

Sounds like to me you are pretty much trying to reinvent the wheel. Sell what you have and look for something you want. The cost will be horrific and you'll have a boat that only you will probably want.
There are LOTS of boats out there now for sale - I'm really certain there is one with your name on it.
