Hey guys! I live right outside Richmond, VA and do most of my boating on Lake Anna, which I love. This season I'd like to get some brackish/saltwater bottom fishing in and I've been looking at several destinations.
1- Westmoreland State Park (for over night camping)- been here before on Scout trips, but don't remember it much? Located on the Potomac.
2- York River State Park (day trips) - Never been here, but I know you can launch at Croakers landing I believe it is?

Anyone been here or have suggestions for other places?
Thanks
MJK

Re: central VA destinations

its not in Va, well actually a part of it is, but the pocomoke river is one of the most beautiful rivers i have ever been on, its 76 miles long and goes from brackish to light salt. they have an abundance of fishing there, from crappie, largemouth bass, pickeral, gar, blue fish, and HUGE catfish for your bottom fishing. i live about ten minutes away and wakeskate on that river about 4 times a week and its a truely amazing place, in the spring time the rockfish are in the river heavy and love to bite on stretches. there are a few state parks to camp with boatramps and fuel. check it out u wont be dissapointed.

You have the James, York and Rappahannock Rivers not too far away.
They should keep you pretty busy.
There are a couple/few lakes to the south of you by the NC line. Not familiar with those though.
