I have an old Champion model # 2J16 4893 outboard, this was my Grandfathers so it could be from the 30's, not sure. I also don't know the HP but my guess would be around 3hp. Does anyone know anything about these motors? It runs as far as I know but hasn't in at least 20 years so I want to get some tech info before I fire her up. Can I get parts for this, or a manual?
I'm looking forward to running at some point, for nostalgic reasons as I'm reasonably sure this is no performer! Might be better than my Sears 5hp tho.....

Good info, I'm glad to hear they were good motors since I'd keep it anyway. This one is in good shape and not missing much so I think I will get the owners guide and then go over the whole thing. Any old motor is worth working on in my humble opinion....
