Change Ignition Switch Help

I have a 1989 Evinrude 225 with OMC controls. Well last weekend I was out and the ignition key snapped in half in the switch (only have 1 key no spare). I can start the engine by placing the broken half of the key and starting.

My question is how difficult is it to change the switch? I have the push to choke model. Anything I need to look out for?

Not difficult, remove and open the remote control, unplug wires, replace switch, fasten up and go....if the switch is fine, you may be able to get another key made for it from a dealer.

go here and look up your exact model...about $35.00 bucks or so for the switch.
