I had the drive pulled in the spring for routine service. Due to weather, schedule, etc., this weekend was the first opportunity I've had to use the boat. The shifting behavior is different than I remember it being from last season. Specifically, when shifting from neutral to forward thrust, there is more "throw" required to get it in gear and a commensurate amount more movement to get throttle action. Is there any possible correlation between drive removal and reinstallation and this perceived change in shift and throttle?

Sounds to me as if the shift cable was not adjusted correctly when the drive was replaced or that the clamp on the starboard side of the drive that secures the cable has not been positioned or tightened correctly.
