CHANGE VOLVO 275 S/P TO D/P

Hi I have a v8 260b engine with Volvo 275 sp ratio 1.61 want to change to duel prop a 280 or 290 can anyone tell me the correct shiming Process I READ ALOT OF FORMS ON HOW TO DO THIS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WHAT THE PRELOAD TEST SHOULD BE
DOES ANYONE HAVE A STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO DO THIS
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT

Also will I need to change anything else IN THE DRIVE Or just GET A D/P lower unit WITH A 1.98 RATIO

Sorry I cannot help you with the shimming, but from what I've heard you do want the bearing race that mounts in the intermediate assembly that is matched to the bearing in the lower. So if you find a DP lower, make sure to get the race along with it. Have you read up in the manual for the shimming?
