Changing exhaust manifold and elbow on mercruiser 350 MAG MPI need tips.

Hello All and thank you for your time

I am changing exhaust manifold, elbow and riser on mercruiser inboard. One of the bigger tips I would appreciate is if there is any kind of grease needed to add on all gaskets. Plan on using lanocote on all screws. Is it even necessary to use anything on gaskets?

Any other helpful tips to help in doing an install? I always like to do things correctly the first time. Any tips would help.

What's the serial number of your engine? Different types take different sealers or none at all.

For the 2 end bolt holes., notch the end holes the diameter of the bolts. to slip the gasket between the block and manifold.
Install manifold with the 2 end bolts left loose. slip gasket in between the head and manifold over the bolts.
Install remaining 2 bolts and tighten to spec.
