I haven't had it on the water yet,too cold.my question is should I change prop size to componsate ss to aluminum? I know this is kinda of open end but going to Canada soon 5 1/2 weeks, what to order prop before its to late

Props are allways labeled 14 1/2 X 21 diameter X pitch.Pitch is the key number.
Changing material and possibly brand without any base line is pretty near impossible.
I think the safest thing is to go with the same pitch.Maybe you can get out and do some test runs w the ss prop. We're not even sure it is right.

Going from SS to alum. The pitch will need to change.Say a 19 SS you will need a 21 al.
Every boat/motor combination can be different.
Go to a local dealer and talk to him about loaner props and most are real dealer/mechanics are real good and know a BUNCH about props .My local guy has a number of props he loans to make sure that it's right. But you need to buy from him.My guy gives a deal for cash!!!J

I just switched to a composite made by piranha propellers, and the technical staff there knew everything and i was able to make the switch very easily. i just got the piranha prop this weekend and i am thrilled about it. i was able to hold plane longer and at lower rpms, plus my top end went up by 3mph.

What size pitch is up to you, but if your going into known rock water I'd go with the aluminum prop. Not trashing the piranha, but to me it's to expensive if you think there's a chance of wasting it. You can get a good alum prop for $60-$100 dollars, use the more expensive (read stainless or piranha) in safer water.
