changing from tiller to saf t..need info on how 2

I have restored my grandfathers 1972 starcraft mariner 14'...floor,carpet dash and seats ect.<br /> I have had the time of my life with the little boat. Restoring for my daughters.. however i have run into a few roadblocks..the old tiller system is rusty and worn.and a new saf t system is easy to intall ( so ive been told )however I cannot find any info on how to get the new steering system to link to the boats 1972 20hp mec outboard ...none of the catologs have any info to tell me if the new system is compatible with the old motor..or even boat for that matter..any help or info would be great..thanks for your time
