When changing a spin on fuel filter/water separator like the one on my 2003 evinrude HO 200hp do you need to fill the new one with fuel.Also should you coat the gasket with oil??Thanks!!!!!!!!!

not sure about the fuel thing


but i would put oil on the gasket lightly to make it easier to come off when u change it again i believe

fill, yes or you will never get it primed.

on your particular motor, the #502906 fuel filter is on the pressure side of the lift pump, so filling the cannister is not needed. It is best, though, to pump the primer ball until it is hard, before starting the motor.
