After reading threads on engine maintence I would like to change the impellor on my '96 40 hp force. I-boats shows (2) parts. One looks like a rebuild with gaskets and the impellor the other shows just the impellor. Do I need the rebuild kit or will just replacing the impellor do? The motor has low hours.

Depends on how the houseing and other pars look in there. I however would get and install the kit, your in there so it wont hurt.

Motor is in good shape. Your right, may as well re-build. I think I will also re-build the fuel pump so the system can handle ethanol laced fuels while I'm at it. Does anyone know if the fuel pump re-build kit is ethanol compatible? If not, how do I determine?

I just got one from iboats but I didnt look to see to see if that ethnol stuff would hurt it. Here in Mississippi we is too poor for that fancy kind of fuel :D

Rudedude, if I buy a tank of gas from the local Exxon station it does not mean that the gas came from their Baton Rouge refinery or that it is actualy Exxon gas. The fuel may not be E-85 but if it has ethanol in it the blend could vary on the percent added. Also I occasionaly bring the boat up to northwest Arkansas for my father-in-law to use. Better safe than sorry!

Your right on takeing no chances, The pump kit discrepiton dosen't say anything about the gas, what not to use or anything. I would think it wouldn't hurt but I dont know. Good Idea to try and find out.
