I have been told that there is a "Medium" pressure fuel filter that should be changed out every other year.

I have the Yamaha 150 HPDI Model # VZ150TLRA

Where is this located and is it practical for "weekend" mechanics to do this service item ? Any special tools required ?

I am told it runs about $100 for the part ??? Any idea on the part # as I don't seem to be able to find it.

Thanks for any help you can provide on this.

Re: Changing "Medium Pressure" fuel filter

part number for the latest filter starts with a 60V, dont allow anyone to sell you an older 68F version.
its a metal can located on top of the VST.
to change it you will need a pair of needle nose pliers,a CV boot clamp tool and the correct clamp. DO NOT use a standard automotive hose clamp or you may get to post about a 50 PSI fuel leak.
to remove the old filter push the fuel line on the outlet side of the filter towards the filter slightly, then using the needle nose push the black plastic at the line fitting towards the High Pressure pump and slide the line off the old filter, then cut the originl clamp off and carefully work the filter off the hose, to reassemble place the clip on the hose push on the filter and clamp it, then slide the quick connect fuel line down the filter nipple until it clicks. thats about all there is to it.
