why is bad to change a boats name ? does it matter if it had aname before and nobody new what the name was ? also does it matter what the name is?

Name her what you please, Johnny, unless you are superstitious.<br /><br />Some believe that renaming a boat or ship annoys Poseiden and causes "bad luck".

I think boats only complain if they had a good, strong name and then you give it a wuss or embarrassing name. Look what happened when we bought your HMS Upholder and called it HMCS Chicoutimi.

Well, I am going from "The Texas Boo Boo" to "Feeling IMPish" it's an IMP, so I think the boat will be much happier.

The only thing bad about it is the unfaded gel coat under the old letters. :)
