changing oil 79 omc

I looked and looked and couldn't xome up with a good fourm. how would I change the oil on a 1978 cobolt its a ford 351 v8 5.8 litter.. I can't find anything that sticks out the boat to able to drain it... please anyone.

On mine (6 cyl), there is a tube that comes up the side of the engine with a fitting on it that looks like a garden hose connection. That is the drain line for the oil pan (designed to have oil sucked out through it).

that's how your suppose to change oil by sucking it out. dang I didn't see no tibe for nine

the only hose I have is a white one that looks like the bilge pump hose that they replaced other then that no other hose what year is yours? also if possible could you take a picture of where about it is anf how it looks please.

If that works(ed), you should be able to see the dipstick and the drain tube in the lower almost center. Mine is a 1972 250 Chevy inline 6.

yea I don't think it worked all I see is a box with a question mark inside of it... okay mines a 1978 351 ford v8

See if yours has the hose fitting at the top of the dipstick like this picture shows.

You should have that same garden hose fitting on the top of your dipstick. Buy a hand pump that attaches to that and it is easy.
