Good evening all,
I just picked up a 2004 Trophy 1802 w/around with a 115 merc EFI saltwater series ob, the trim moter needs replaceing, eventhough it still works it is so rotted out that it wont be working for long, I replaced all the zinks and cleaned all connections so this does not happen again but the damage is done and I need to replace the trim moter, I have no experiance with this job but would like to do it myself, is this job as straight foward as it looks, it looks as though a bracket will have to be unbolted and swung foward to remove the 2 back cap screws on the pump, is the unit under pressure, how would I drain it, just unbolt it? a step by step procedure would be nice if anyone is interested,,,,,thanks for any help.

Re: changing power trim

can you take out bottom pin and spin the trim system on the piston shaft? It won't hurt the system.

Re: changing power trim

You are correct on removing side bracket to gain access... just get plenty of PBlaster,MAPP gas and study up on cuss words about engines in salt water:D
