Hello all. New to forum. I have looked and looked but have been unable to find any info regarding changing out seats in a boat. I have found many online that I would like to order but unsure of whether or not they will line up/fit on the existing pedestals that are on the boat. This is my first boat so I'm learning as I go. I am looking to replace the 2 captains chairs/seats that are on my Renken center console. How do you know if the holes will line up etc? Any thoughts and ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Changing seats

You should be able see hole positions before you buy the seat. If you are ordering online the dimensions are normally given. Just look for one that matches your holes.

I ordered some seats and bases from these people OSCULATI NAUTICA: Boating supplies - Accessori per la nautica

They have a variety of seats and bases that are interchangeable. But it depends where you are situated, they may not have a dealer in your area.

Another option would be to contact the original builder and inquire where they got their seat and replace it with the same one.

As a last result you can always drill new holes and fill the others. Just be sure to buy a large seat base that covers they old holes
