Changing to remote control

My son has a 1990 Mercury 25 HP, serial # OC287406 It's an electric start with the gear shift on the tiller arm.. He wants to add a side console to the boat and have remote steering. Did Mercury make a kit to change over the motor to remote control. Anyone have any parts or part numbers to help us locate what may be needed to do this... Did Mercury make this motor or did Mariner?
