Changing trim tab

I recently had ny stern drive changed, It was a used one and the trim tab broke off the other day at the lake. I have the old drive with a good tab on it and want to swap it. what tools do I need is it a allen wrench and what size is it. It is a 1984 mercrusier 3.0l alpha drive. I appreciate your help.

either 5/16 or 3/8 allen

....most I've encountered are, indeed, 3/8".
