I have an '84 Chaparral and need to remove and clean out the gas tank. I would like to know if there is an easier way to clean out the tank without ripping up my floorboards. There are large pieces of debris inside the tank clogging up the intake. I've been making due by bypassing the tank with a portable 6 gallon topside container but this is getting old.

There is, just big enough to get my hand inside to connect/disconnect the hose.

I have a similar issue, but can't get a view of the pick-up. Curious how you know it is a piece of debris clogging intake. (I would like to inspect mine but mine isnt removable from what I can tell.)

Silly thought- but did you pull the carpt back to see if there was an access panel under it?
