HI,<br /><br />I have a OMC Saildrive - model 15S10S - 15 h.p. that just won't start. I made a lot of tests and so far the results are the followings:<br /><br />1- I only have sparks when I hand cranked the engine but it doesn't start the engine;<br /><br />2- I don't have sparks when I use the keyswitch to try to start the engine;<br /><br />3-I made the keyswitch test as provided in the owner manuel and the switch seems to be ok;<br /><br />4-I made a continuity test for each wire from the keyswitch to it's destination point and there are no shorts in the wires;<br /><br />5- A resistance test on the Charge Coil should have read 475 ohms but when I test it it showed 0<br /><br />5- The sensoir coil test however was ok;<br /><br />Could my ignition problems be resolved by changing the charge coil ? I don't know much about engine so I dont't know if there could be a link between the charge coil and the ignition problem.<br /><br />Thanks to answer rapidly ...before spend approx 300 $ on a new part...
