Charging Problems on Johnson 25 Help

have a 2000 Johnson 25 and it is not putting out a charge when i tested it running with a voltmeter on the battery and was wondering what would need to be changed or if i need to further my testing to another part of the motor to rule out any other possibility's any answers would be greatly appreciated

model #? some of them do not have a charging circuit. if you are sure it does, check the rectifer.
