charging voltage

what voltage should the magneto be charging at on my 57 gale 25hp. when i had it out the other day it was 12.6v

thats all that one is going to due. designed just to maintain the starting battery. we didn't have trolling motors, stereos in boats back then. we enjoy nature. electric start, you were thought to be lazy or high class.
