I see Hamlin wadded his car up in the wall yesterday. Went to the care center "twice" to check for a concussion which was "recommended" by NASCAR. He was cleared. How NASCAR treats potential concussions has been forever changed since Jr pulled himself out of the last 2 races. This is the track where he got his first one during a tire test. I don't think NASCAR wants to be sued like some of the former NFL players are doing and will take extra precautions...

Should be an interesting race with the repave and change in banking. Speeds are up. Sounds like they'll break the track record during qualifying.

We can get a little taste of the new track by watching the ARCA race tonite on SPEED......

Tonites race pretty much stayed 1 groove. They tried to move up right away, seemed to work, but at this series they weren't able to stay up there. I think we'll see more side by side racing when we get the Nationwide guys out there who are more experienced. I think only 12 guys finished on the lead lap. Either 16th or 17th was 4 laps down. The lead pack passed lapped traffic like they were standing still.

I guess all the Cup guys broke the track record during qualifying. Should be interesting over the next 2 days.......

Just watched the Nationwide race. Good race. Looks like the 2nd groove is coming along. The place to pass was either on the outside or on the apron. I'm sure that 2nd groove will be used more by the Cup guys. Danica had a good day, 10th. Was running higher until that last caution..... Logano kinda acted like a spoiled brat, IMO......... Let it go, Logano........

Probably tape the Cup race too. Supposed to be 60+. Plan on taking the daughter out in search of the elusive musky.....:)

Excellent...! Let us know if you find any :) As for the racing this weekend I have not had any time to watch. The Nascar boys should mix it up some tomorrow.

Will do. Going to stop on the way to the lake and get 2 minnows. They just happen to be 12" and $5 each! You would think something would slam them.....

Our cable system has DVR. If it wasn't for that I would have missed todays race. I didn't realize how much that DVR would come in handy. I think it will be a real good race tomorrow.....

What a wreck fest. A lot of single car, blown right front tires, or, losing the rear end getting back on the gas. Tony spun my boy Burton. He was still ticked at one of his crew members when the guy left the wrench in the car. I guess Tony decided to take out his frustrations on the track an go thru someone rather than around.

At the speeds they were running, I don't know how Johnson kept up with a wrecked rear. Even after all the fixing that rear was still tweeked pretty good.

Danica?

Shrubby wrecked...... :(:D

Jr is supposed to be back in the saddle this weekend if he gets cleared early this week.

ps. No muskies. Never saw a one. Did take a hook in the thumb up to the barb(thankfully not past) while trying to put a harness on a 12" sucker........

Yeah that race was a mess. Only 27 cars running at the end. Other than a plate race, I can't remember that few. I have mixed feelings about Danica. At least she stood up for herself, but jeez, don't wreck yourself . . .

Completely agree. Yeah, she panicked when she spun the guy and put her own car sideways. Also, forgot where the brake pedal is located... Still feel she needs another full season with Nationwide......

I bet she doesn't last much longer with Go Daddy pulling sponsorship away from her.

They ended up saying something supportive though. I've seen a little fire, and that's good.

That race reminded me of the old days...blowing right front tires and sliding the rear ends around :D

As for Danica...I like her lil spit fire attitude not to mention she is by Far the Prettiest Driver out there :p

Danica's GoDaddy sponsorship contract runs through 2013. Of course contracts don't seem to be worth much these days. What's up in the air is her appearing in any new GoDaddy commercials with a new ad agency.

I wouldn't think GoDaddy would get rid of Danica anytime soon. She is the face of GoDaddy. I doubt anyone watching those ads are thinking about how she's performing on the track....
