Well, I was putting the boats back in the drink today as Hanna has passed.
First the Searay which has been in drydock for a couple weeks.
Next was the McKee craft. I was backing up into the lot and bumped into the storm drain curb...not hard mind you, I was only creeping backwards. Well, the trailer seemed a little squirrelly backing up. Got the boat in, tied up the boats and walked back to the ramp to get the truck and trailer.
Drove back to the house, backed up and noticed the trailer was at about a 10 degree angle and still moving straight. Evidently when I bumped the curb - it bent the trailer. Geez, what a piece of junk!
I'll chain the one side to a tree and pull it back out.
But I can see this p.o.s. will be replaced at the first opportunity or at least reinforced if I can ever run into some galvanized stock.
I don't' know what brand the trailer is, but the construction consists of a fairly stout center beam going all the way back with a box made of angle iron that the axle attaches to with bunks on top. Evidently, I knocked the box out of square when I hit the curb.
