Check engine soon?

I have a 2012 Stingray 195CS with a Merc 3.0 under the hood. I've owned it as the second owner for two fun seasons. Only 125 hours on the clock. This year (#3) I took the boat out and when I returned to my dock I noticed the "check engine soon" light was on. I did fill up the tank while I was out. Everything seems to be fine, engine oil was changed the end of last season. I did notice the two items however, 1. The auto bilge pump isn't cycling on and off as it did in the past. It does work by the switch at the dash. 2. My power steering pump was near empty so I topped it off to the right spot on the dipstick.

When I bought the boat, the dealer told me there were no manuals etc. Since that time, I have been trying to locate an online engine manual. If I had one I may be able to find out what triggers the light to come on. Does anyone have some things I could check. What items trigger this lamp?

Any help here would be gratefully appricated.

is the 3.0 carbureted or fuel injected

on a carb'd motor, the only 3 things that are ever looked at and should have sounded an alarm...... are the water temperature, the oil pressure and the gear oil reservoir.

so, what was your water temp, and if you were not looking at the gauges, shame on you. what was your oil pressure?

if your motor is EFI, then in addition to the 3 things above, you could have an EFI related fault

if your auto-bilge ever cycles, you have a leak and water is entering your boat.

you didnt look to hard for manuals

I suppose I should have said the 3.0 was an MPI. Perhaps that would have softened your attitude and response! Your response zoomed in on an alarm sounding.....NOT THE CASE! I wrote "check engine soon". Two different things.

Next error on your non-response. Water enters the boat when it rains, it does end up in the bilge by design. Since you're not the master of boats that you thought you were, I'll fill you in on something, Stingray has installed an auto sensing pump that checks for water every 2-1/2 minutes. If none is detected, it shuts down and checks again in another 2-1/2 mins. NOPE NO LEAK THERE!

Cheesehead your entire answer could have been narrowed down to;

I can't help you with anything but,

you can view manuals here http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html

I'll bet you feel more stupid than you were trying so hard to make me feel! Have a nice day! Thanks for the link for the manuals.
