Hi guys,

I want to check my impeller and was wondering if I can do so without needing new gaskets or seals due to removal process ruining these? Just want to check it out and see if its worn much.

There are no seals or gaskets so go ahead and check it.

IF??? If your gonna take it apart??
Change it.
The impeller might "look" ok.
But as soon as you put it back in go bad???
They are cheap.

Ok. Took lower unit off. It looked ok, but was going to replace anyways. Thanks for confirmation. So I slip the cup and impleller over top of the shaft. But there is a , what looks to be, a stainless steel seal or sleeve. Do I just slip that off as well? Also, the copper tubing which sets in the impeller housing fell from under the motor. This looks to be a pain to fit back up in there as you can see where it connect into. Should I open another post for that?

You have to take the powerhead off the leg. The coppertube is hold to the leg by a rubbergrommet and the grommet is sealing against the powerhead. It is a almost impossible to put the tube back right without moving the powerhead and IF you got it back you may have a waterleak against the powerhead ending up with a overheating.
