Yea, I wonder where they were when the UN inspectors were there?<br /><br />Makes a person wonder.<br /><br />Now the UN secretary on tv a minute ago talking about the UN's involvement in rebuilding Iraq and maybe taking control until a government can be established there.<br /><br />Talking about doing a about-face.

They were there, right in front of Hans Blix's nose.<br /><br />But he was too worried about negotiating his payoff.<br /><br />France, Germany and Russia now claim that they have their own intersts in Iraq and that they should be in charge of post-war Iraq so they can protect their interests.<br /><br />The only thing their interested in, is making sure nobody finds out what they were up to in Iraq before this war.<br /><br />Mostly their OIL FOR WEAPONS programs.<br /><br />They fear that the U.S. or U.K. will find evidence of their programs and that they would be banned from the U.N., leaving them out there alone with the rest of their terrorist buddies.

So far, I have heard no confirmation that the drums found contained WMS, only suspicions.<br /><br />What France's and Russia's interests in Iraq are is only idle speculation at this point. Could be true, could be mere gossip.

I don't know but they say preliminary findings say they are nerve agents and blister agents.<br /><br />Sounds good to me that they have found some aspects to WMD's.

The reports also say something about some missiles loaded up with some chemicals too ready to launch.<br /><br />Besides that, they were led to it by an Iraqi Col.<br />And why bury it if it is not something illegal?

Our military has already come up with more items which are suspect in the last two weeks than the UN has in 12 years.<br /><br />I truly believe he has them. Chemical suits aren't just for those cold wintry days in Iraq. I'm just glad he hasn't used them so far.<br /><br />Much more will come out after this war. Iraqi's will start singing like canaries.

While I have no idea what the tests will bear out, whether or not these may be weapons grade chemical agents, It was after all a pesticide plant, and a pretty standard pesticide, which was once used here but no longer is to my knowledge, is the same chemical as military nerve gas, only in much smaller concentrations.<br /><br />The old Shell no pest strips and old style dog flea collars were made of the stuff, only in much smaller concentrations of course than military grade stuff.<br /><br />They were very effective pesticides, but had other problems and taken off the market here. I doubt if they have the same EPA rules in Iraq.<br /><br />Still, it is not surprising that they may well get a positive reading initially, even if they are not weapons grade.<br /><br />Wait for the formal tests of what exactly we are dealing with seems in order.
