Chicagoland Marina?

Can someone recommend a good repair shop that can tune up my 1959 Johnson Super SeaHorse Fat Fifty motor?! I can't imagine a lot of shops wanting to touch this thing based on its age, but it has been out of the water for almost 13 years and could use a good tune up and run through before putting it in!

I'm located in Naperville about 30 mins outside Chicago. I already tried Fox Valley Marine out by me and they told me they won't touch anything over 20 years old

I've also reached out to the local Illinois Outboard Chapter with the hopes that they might have a contact!

Ok - you might want to try some of the fox river and chain of lake marinas. Tanglewood marine in St. Charles. I dont know alot about them. My guy is in Port Barrington/Crystal Lake. The name of the marina is Port Barrington Marina. Hes been servicing for 30 years. As honest as they come. Fox 14 marina in Fox River Grove. All Marine in Cary. Grand Sports Center in Lake in the hills. Its a little bit of a drive but it maybe worth it.

Thanks! I just looked up the Port Barrington Marina and it looks pretty good! What type of motor have you had serviced by them? Is there someone you suggest I talk to specifically? Hopefully they can help me out! I appreciate your help!

My motors have been I/O's. 1993 Merc
Theres only two guys. The owners name is Jim, thats who you want to talk to. Great guy! Good luck
