Got a 17.8 procraft Bass Boat 1989. I installed an old 1979 evinrude 150. The boat had a jack plate when I got it. I have had some problems with hard steering at high speeds. I installed new hydrolic steering which helped greatly. However I still have hard steering at WOT. 50mph. I have the motor raised about 4 inches above the bottom plane of the hull. I have some cavitation on the hole shot. Is my problem that I have the motor too high ?
Please help.
