Choice of paint for oil pan - Prevent rust - Brightside?

Hi Folks,
I have a 5 L mercruiser in a trophy 2359 (2003)
:-( It seems I have an oil leak in my pan.

So the mechanics are pulling the engine to inspect and replace the pan.

My question is, should I add any extra protection to the bottom of the pan?

What do you think about interlux Brightside, I hear it has a teflon component.
Do you think I should have them paint the bottom of the new replacement pan with a teflon pain to resist corrosion?

Or is there something better than the Brightside?

Thanks for any advise

Scott

Ayuh,... Welcome Aboard,... The only answer in my world is Rustoleum industrial enamel,...

Sprayed or brushed, don't matter... red oxide primer.... top coat in the color of yer choice...

Have had real good luck with a quality bed liner paint for trucks on new pans as well. On my Volvo, I used red Rustoleum (about 6 coats) on the pan, and never got that first spot of rust on it, and there was usually salt water in the bilge as well from the deck washdown from salmon and halibut innards.

Thank you for your quick replies.

I had considered spray on bedliner, but was told it may impede oil cooling.

Rustoleum is always good, I agree, but that Ospho Rust Treatment sounds like the best.
I will see if I can find it anywhere in my area, otherwise I guess I will use the Rustoleum

Such a drag to have to yank the engine to replace the pan, I don't want to do this again if I can prevent it.

I've always just hot-dip galvanized them, then primed and painted.
