Choke and mixture adjustment.

I have an 80 Glastron with a 165hp I6. I want to adjust the choke and the mixture. I see the choke adjustment wheel and I know where the mixture screws are. I just need to know the correct procedure for adjusting both. Thanks.

Mixture = best idle quality.
Choke: 1) Stone cold engine. 2) Remove flame arrester
3) Open throttle about 1/4. 4) Did choke plate close? If not its either misadjusted or broken. 5) Loosen choke plate screws. 6) If choke is closed, rotate disc so choke plate opens slightly. The turn the opposite direction until it just closes. If choke is open, turn disc until choke just closes. If choke does not respond to disc movement, remove the disc and see what's missing. Repair as needed. Readjust.
Finally, start engine. Choke should open slightly at engine start. If not, the pull-off needs attention/replacement. As engine warms choke coil will continue to pull choke open. If not, it needs repair. You also should have a service manual as all this is explained in more detail with pictures.

Choke is set when engine stone cold
Mixture set when engine fully warm.

Choke nob will open and close choke
plate. Loosen three screws around the
nob and turn nob untill choke plate is
@ 1/16 to 1/8 open.
Verify linkage is moving freely and note the fast idle
cam.
Start engine and turn idle stop screw on the fast idle cam
to the specs.
Note operation of choke plate and verify it is opening
and full open when warm,(Plate should be held open
with pressure from the choke riser.)

Get tachometer/DVM and connect to neg side coil.
Turn mixture screws to acheive highest rpm
readjust idle stop screw and readjust mixture,
When highest rpm is reached and idle stop screw
adjusted, then enrichen mixture by opening
screws untill 50 rpm drop. @25 a side.
Readjust idle stop up 50rpm
