Choke setting when starting

I have a pull start 18 HP Merc. where should the choke be set when starting?

Serial #5994984 (not sure what year it is)

Full ON! Squeeze primer bulb until its firm. Set choke full on, giver it a tug. When it starts, turn it off. If it tends to die pop it back partially on for a bit. Shouldn't need to use it once warmed up.
