Choke Solenoid Bad

My Choke Solenoid is bad on my boat. It a 1979 Mariner 140 HP. I have looke at a couple of the salavage site that was list here and can't find one. I can't find the part new either. I found a Mercury Choke Solenoid 50 60 70 HP 3cyl 1972 - 1983 on Ebay and looking at the picture it looks just like the one on my boat. If the messurements are same would this one work on my boat? I don't know why it wouldn't they would both be 12 volt unit correct?
