Hows it going Iboats, tonight i finished my carb rebuild and everything went very smoothly, and boy did it need it. I got the the very end when i was installing the choke rod at the end of the rebuild and i was trying to set the base tune and when setting the Choke Unloader the manual mentioned a tang on the throttle lever that should contact the choke rod and slightly open the choke when under full throttle, and to bend this "tang" to increse of decrease the amount of contact, however my throttle lever has no tang on it and doesnt seem to have anything broken off. Did some Mercarbs not come with this tang? If not how do i obtain the 5/64" space in the choke? My carb model is 815396 from a 1990 3.0L.

Re: Choke Unloader Question

Looks like yours is set with the electric choke spring. Loosen the screws and rotate the housing to set the flap at the cold specification. No 'Tang. Some have 'Tang, some don't. :D

Re: Choke Unloader Question

Ah thank you very much! That makes a lot more sense. I've set the electric choke to the manuals specs.
