i have just had a new cdi unit installed as the 8hp mariner was only firing on one cyclinder massive difference in the performance now the thing is even when the engine is warm i still have to pull the choke out to start her, surely when warm she should start with the choke in.

That is a symptom of a dirty carb. You might clean it up.

thank you so much for your sound advice i shall adhere to it forgot to mention in the last post the bulb in the fuel line, it certainly goes hard then when starting the engine back up i have to pump it back up to hardness again, thank you for your kind advice.
