choose Instant Email Notifiction but get no notification

I'm set on auto notification on posts and I choose Instant Email Notifiction but I never get any notification!??!

Each thread you want notified on, use the thread tool radio button on top of the thread and choose subscribe to this thread and it will work.

Interestingly, I did get notification this time.​

I must be blind -- don't see any radio button on top of the thread. But maybe it's going to work now.

Yea, it says thread tools.
Click it and it will give you different options.
