I have a 1971 Chris Craft Lancer with a V6 Chris Craft 225BVC engine and I need to know what to set the timing to. I have found out it is a buick 225 marine engine but can't locate timing specs. The hoarspower is 155-170 depending on where you look.

5 degrees BTDC at 800 rpm. Max advance 20-30 degrees at 2800 rpm

Clip, DW was on the money (5 degrees BTDC). My book shows the dwell @ 30 drgrees and the point gap @ .016. I have the same engine in my boat (19ft Hydroswift) that you have. I have converted my ign. over to electronic. It works quite well with easier starts and smoother idle. The conversion was from Pertronix and was around $100.00. If you do this modification be sure to go with the Pertronix II. ...Good luck with your Buick....Pappy

http://www.geocities.com/ratsult2/boatpic.html
