Christmas is over ... I am ready for winter! First time in a whole lot of years I did not plow snow before Christmas. Still no measurable snow in sight, but after the 50 degrees it is supposed to be today, we are to get down to freezing and below. Had the boat out yesterday between raindrops. Will be taking it on a few hunting trips after the first of the year, when the temps are right and before the water turns hard.

That's Rudolph in the front followed by the rest, 2x2.......

WIMUSKY, I have to say those look like tons of fun. Sadly when I lived up north growing up (north east PA), we didn't have those machines. I did have a regular sled and they would block off one street when it snowed and everybody converged there and we all sled ridded (?) down that mountainous street. We lived on the side of a mountain and that made the slay riding really fast. It was the coal ashes at the end that would stop you on a dime. Well it stopped the sled anyways, you would still keep going. But the trip back up the hill would takes soooo longgg.

I did a lot of ATV riding years ago down here in Georgia, but never snowmobile riding. Really does look like fun! :encouragement:

Is it me, or did the pic get smaller and blurry. Last time I looked it was bigger and clear..... They are tons of fun, gm. You can put a lot of miles on in a hurry even cruising at a sensible speed. Pull off a trail in the middle of nowhere to take a break. Ride to a town and have lunch. Cruz to a lake and just hangout. Up here in WI you can ride from the NW corner to Madison if you want. I never had one either as a kid. Dad wasn't into sledding. I had the wooden sled with the metal runners too.

Never did the ATV thing. Not yet anyway. But I do like the Arctic Cat Wildcat. Basically A/Cs answer to the Razor..... There's a bunch of ATV trails around here too....

Older eyes, maybe? LOL

No machines when I was younger, not mainstream yet. Plenty of dangerous sled riding though. If I tried some of the things I did as a kid today -

Yes GA, I am also suffering from old eye syndrome...I think...?

I do remember slay ridding and honestly don't think I could do the same anymore myself these days. My mind says I can, but my body says, no you can't!

Any chance you're stepping outside and almost immediately taking the pix. Sort of looks like the lense is fogged over.

Or possibly the lense used for range finding (focal length) is.

My guess partially because 2 different cameras produced nearly the exact same blurriness.

I miss riding snowmobiles every now and again. We never owned 'em but had some friends who did. For some reason neither PWC or 4 wheelers have the same appeal to me that a snowmobile does.

Humorously, we had a receptionist who worked at the office here near Nashville who, one fall evening, put on her Arctic Cat jacket before going home from work. I looked at the jacket, laughed and asked if she just picked it up at Goodwill or was really trusting the Good Lord to provide a new hobby? :D

Turns out she and her husband would go up to Cadillac, MI from Nashville every other weekend to snowmobile during the winter months!

When I bring them up in my pic folder they're nice and clear. Something must be happening when I resize them in Photobucket.... So I still have a shot at Ansel...:lol:
