Yes yes I know it's not christmas yet or even thanksgiving for that matter but I was wondering what things us pontoon owners may be asking for Christmas. Also if you reply, what things you may think of in certain price ranges would be helpful too.

Re: Christmas!

I'll jump in and say I can't think of anything because I have previously equipped mine with the following:

Compass
GPS
VHF radio
Depth Finder
Back-Up camera (Used as a rear-view mirror in my enclosed boat)
Radio-Controlled steering (I can sit up front with friends and sip a beer)
Flag holders
Enclosed Head
Full enclosure (No mooriong covers needed. Cool and rainy weather no problem - Go from full open to full closed in 3 minutes)

Makes me feel bad that my wish list has been eliminated. LOL!!!

Where did you find the Radio Controlled Steering setup? It is some sort of Auto Pilot setup?

Thanks,

Re: Christmas!

I designed and built it myself nearly twenty years ago and have transfered it to each of my boats.

I use a Sport Pilot autopilot motor controlled by two relays to reverse the current through the motor. The relays are controlled by a keychain remote transmitter and receiver.

It's actually a pretty simple setup and works great. I considered marketing the system several years ago but product insurance was impossible to obtain.

I'll be glad to furnish the schematic and parts list to anyone who PM's me.
I was going to build one for a friend a couple of years ago but could not find a motor.

Re: Christmas!

How about full length bumpers on both sides. I have two so far. I got them from worton marine on sale. Or some guide on for the pontoon boat trailer.

That's excellent. You can drink and drive and the habour police wont know who's driving if they pull you over! Brilliant!

My toon is set up well; the only thing I need is calmer water and lower wind speeds.
