chrysler 115 only sparks when letting off key

I have a 79 Chrysler 115 I recently bought, took it out on the lake today and it fire right up and as I was letting it warm up it shut off and would not fire. I found that I lost spark but it still will spark a little as soon as I let off the key. Where should I even start with this outboard motors are completely new to me. I pulled the flywheel and cleaned the magnets and stator up but im lost after that didn't work.

I may be wrong on this. However I have had this problem before. Sounds like the start position on your ignition switch is bad. Replace the switch. Its possible that there is corrosion at the solder joint. Worth a check. You need to ohm this out with a meter before buying a switch. Ok ill give that a try tomorrow I have a switch off another boat that may work. When I got the motor the starter would sometimes stick until I would pull the neg cable off the battery so hopefully thats all it is.

Well tried a new key switch and it didnt change anything. Any other ideas?

I noticed with a test light on the blue ignition wire that it has a fairly big draw when It is cranking over is that normal?

I have 11 amps going into the blue wire on the trigger (drops to 9 when cranking) but only 7 coming out on the white wire
(6 while cranking). Could this be a sign of a bad trigger? it has this style trigger
